Dr. John Fosbinder - Emergency Medicine Physician with Outdoor Focus

Since 2009, John Joe Fosbinder, DO, has practiced emergency medicine at the Bakersfield Heart Hospital, where he provides responsive care patients with a variety of conditions, including those that may be life threatening. Among Dr. John Joe Fosbinder’s areas of extensive knowledge are emergency ultrasound and wilderness and altitude medicine. His interest in this field has roots in volunteer work he undertook at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Following a few years of providing volunteer care, Dr. John J. Fosbinder was accepted into Des Moines University’s medical program. He spent 2 years at the institution and an additional 2 years practicing and studying in Bay City, Michigan. He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Dr. John J. Fosbinder enjoys mountaineering and has completed a number of adventure races that have lasted up to 24 hours and required specialized skills such as rock climbing, rappelling, and using a compass to find specified locations. He has also competed in a variety of mountain bike races across rugged terrain.
